1st attempt at hatching - April 1 hatch date...7 of 8 hatched. PIC Heavy w/ Hatching Videos!

can't tell you how many eggs i've hatched, but each hatch is exciting.

i've got 40+ red dorkings due sunday as well. no pips yet, but my incubators tend to run right on schedule usually. if your temps are just half degree high over the course of incubation that may shorten it by a day or so... i tend to be a hair lower than average, so some of my chicks hatch on day 22 or even 23.

this last hatch was due the 27th. i had 7 hatch the 27th, 5 on the 28th and 2 on the 29th. but one on the 27th hatched too soon and hadn't absorbed all the yolk. and one on the 29th the same. i lost the first, the second one is still hanging in there but i don't think it looks great.

You heard right!

I think I've heard that little bantams sometimes hatch a day or two early. Good luck.

Hi there, My eggs are due on April first as well

! I began with 25 eggs but am sadly down to 6. I had 2 clears after day 5 and then they seemed to drop like flies, by twos until I got to 6. Thankfully I have seen all six moving around from time to time, but mine are not as eager as yours are. I have no pips yet

but hopefully soon! Good luck on your eager hatches.

This one just busted out like an outlaw in an old western jail. The little bantam provided the cheering section.

Second egg hatching. Day 20, Saturday, March 31, 2012 around 7:50am DST.
This one is a full size egg from our Cinnamon Queen. The zip on this was about 10 minutes from start to full hatch.
