The first of my September chicks laid an egg today! Yay! I believe it was the white rock, since she's the only one that should be laying a light brown egg. My other chicks are leghorns, marans, and welsummers. I expected the leghorns to lay first, but I guess not. I'm very impressed with her!

Congratulations! I have four slackers then since they're 19 weeks and haven't started laying yet.

I wasn't expecting any eggs until at least next month. I don't know........I pulled the sweetest little egg out of the nest box. It's been a long time since I've seen an egg that small. It's always fun to get that first $50 egg, isn't it?

LOL Congrats!! My EEs just started laying at 27 weeks. I have two laying for sure...maybe three...so I have three slackers.

WOOHOO!!! Another little egg today. I think it's from a Welsummer -- it's darker brown with speckles. Fun, fun!!!
