My pullets are 19 weeks old just this past monday. For the past week I have gone out more than my normal few times a day (Ha! more like a dozen times a day) and done quick check of the hen house. You know, just in case somebody wanted to bless me with a nice new egg. LOL

Last night I was finishing up with cooking supper (chicken stew from one of our own processed chickens!) so my husband and the girls went out to the barn to check the feed and close up. The girls came in first.

The youngest says, "Can I show momma what we found?"

My older daughter says, "No, not yet."

I said, "If my chickens laid an egg and you all didn't come get me my feelings will be hurt." Not really but maybe? LOL

My husband comes in and the conversation is repeated with him only this time my youngest daughter holds out her hands and in each hand is a little pullet egg.

So I have no idea which two started laying yesterday but I do have an idea since they were found in the nest boxes closest to the door that it was most likely one if my RIR and one of the barred rocks.

You know threatening them is what I think did it. I went out there yesterday morning and said to them all as I filled the feeders, " I took 3 boys out here for being lazy and mean do you girls want to be next? If not, you better get to producing some eggs!"

LOL

Oh, now, isn't that fun?! Congrats. Wish my Speckled Sussex and my last Barred Rock pullet would start. Those girls are 25 weeks old and my SS girl is the size of a tank! That girl is quite the little piggie of an eater. She'd better produce something soon, LOL.

Congrats on your eggs! Lil' beauties!
My EE's started laying at exactly 21 weeks - I only have 5 of them (and a black X link), but every day since I've gotten at least one...and yesterday, I got three! Can't tell you how exciting it STILL is to go check the coop when I get home from work!
Yesterday was a lousy day...rainy, cold, windy all day, so I thought I may not end up with any, but when I saw three it made my day!

I wanted to show off the two pullets that I am pretty sure laid those eggs last evening. As you can see my big fat white wyandotte wanted her picture taken and wouldn't stop hogging the show. LOL

Not the white wyandotte, she hasn't given me anything.

She is just a big fat camera hog!
