My rir pullets starting laying the other day got 4 eggs total but the 2 of them were laid while roosting hit the ground and broke (i'm guessing those were the first).
the next 2 one was in the nesting box and the other was on the roof of the coop.

Yahoo! Congratulations and enjoy. There's nothing like fresh eggs for breakfast. Do you have golf balls in your nesting boxes? They really help to get the girls laying in the right place.

Yippee!!

Congratualations!
My cochin laid her first eggs, two at once, both soft shelled, on the roost as well. After that she made it in the box, but now I think I will go check the coop roof!!

Joking aside though, two toned probably tastes just as good as solid!

i was just so proud that the girls started laying that one could have been pink and I probably wouldn't have noticed

if you want your egg count to double by egg layer. I get about 10 eggs every other day from my reds good luck.

How old are yours? Mine still aren't laying, we have had them for 3 or 4 weeks and nothing, they are at least 20 weeks maybe a few more and have been on layer since before we got them, I don't understand. I told them yesterday they were gonna be dinner if they don't start soon!
