1st HATCH! OMGosh, look what came out of my EE egg!

Thanks for posting this so other folks will know, where there is a will there is a way!!

You're welcome, and my pleasure. You were right! They certainly can breed a standard hen when they're determined. In fact, now that I look at some of the others, I think one or two more may be half Silkie too, but lack as many Silkie features. They look more like the Moms, but they have darker legs and just look a little different than the other chicks. He's a little dickens!

And a little tiny stepladder!

Maybe that's how he did it, lol!

My two silkie roos have surprised me too - a few times! We currently have some adolescents consisting of Delaware/Silkie (aka Delkie as we call it) and Cochin/Silkie (aka Silchin as we call it).

That's funny, because I gave a friend some EE eggs, and one had feathered legs too. One look at the chick and I knew it was from my Giant Cochin roo! I did tell her that they had been running together, but she didn't mind. It's going to be a BIG chicken!

I now have my Ameraucana and EE hens separated in breeding pens, but I have to wait just a little longer before I put my Ameraucana roo with them.
