Oh my I don't think my nerves can take this. Last night I had convinced myself that all 5 of my eggs were dead, when they hadn't moved for several hours. Noticed a little movment in a few this morning, and now an hour ago I got my first pip! I don't know if I should go out the house, or hang around the house doing housework incase I need to bump up humidity or such. This is worse than being in labour. In 2 hours time it's exactly 20 days since I set that egg. Temperature is between 37.5 and 38.2 degrees. And I have humidity between 65 and 70%. This is my first time hatching chicks!

I’m just getting my incubator dialed in to the right temperature to do my first run at this. So exciting. I imagine when I get to your point I won’t be able to sleep! Keep us posted. And pics please! Good luck!

After a very long day egg 1 and egg 2 are racing to the finish line! Egg 2 took 17 hours from first pip to starting to zip (and she's zipping fast now). Egg 2 took 15 hours from first pip to starting to zip. Looks like she's resting a little again now. And egg 3 has pipped!

You are right. I got up at 3am after 3 hours sleep to see if there was any progress. Been up for an hour an a half watching one hatch. 2nd one on it's way. But had to give into temptation and go back to bed now or I won't manage to wake to get kids to school! Ha ha
