I had a button quail egg do exactly as you explained the other day..i was like what the!?
I picked it up, and here it had a very faint crack in it...so i opened it up knowing itwas dead...here the crack dried out teh whole egg, and the membrane thta was left at the bottom was making teh egg "top heavy" so it kept rolling violently until it was balanced. Kinda freaky when i first saw it, thought my egg was being controled by a magnet! LOL!
