Funny, we avoid USPS when we can because of their sloppiness. Not to mention their rudeness and general bad attitude. I can call my Fedex rep and have any problem taken care of in minutes. Try that at the post office some time

We use USPS, I have found them to be the best option.

Our post offices are great- both in WI and SD.

We now do most of our shipping from the SD farm. Our postmaster will wait and not close until I get there, but I do call if I am running behind and getting there at closing time. They will help tape on labels, apply stickers, or help any way they can.

We did about $10,000 in postage last year, so for our small town we are their largest shipper.

We only use the #7 boxes- I can ship eggs cheaper in the #7 boxes than I can in a flat rate box. #7 boxes also give enough room for more cushion.

We wrap each egg in half a paper towel and place in a egg carton or inbetween 2 egg flats (top one inverted) and pack the box with crumpled newspaper.

USPS supplies the boxes & tape, lots of friends save newspaper & cartoons, the local cafe saves egg flats. So we only have to purchase paper towels and paper for printing labels and some stickers.

We use Click-n-ship to save and get tracking info on each box.
