1st time with a pheasant, HELP!

Will his tail feathers grow back? Thanks for the info, I'm building him a large pen this Saturday, I've read that they do not need a roost, just a ground house. Is this what others have done?Y

Yes, his feathers will grow back. I can't answer the other questions as I've never owned a pheasant before, sorry.

His tail will grow back after he molts this summer. I would put a roost in their pen, fairly high. All of mine sleep out side on their roosts (7ft up) all year and only a few of mine ever go in their small houses that I have in each pen.

And 24% game bird food should be good.

Tony what do you suggest feeding? I bought a small bag of 24% gamebird feed.

That's what you want,but pellets not crumble.They do like to roost,they very rarely will go into a house of any kind.Place the roost low enough so predators can't reach down and grab them.
