(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are new to chickens and guinea fowl.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently, we have 11 chickens, but it may become 10 if our 16 week old rooster doesn't calm down- he attacked my 5 year old and has threatened us, though walking with a pool noodle in hand seems to help him respect us more. We also have 4 guinea fowl.

(3) What breeds do you have?
2- Light Brahma, 1- Dark Brahma, 1- Dominique (roo), 1- Golden Laced, 1- Silver Laced, 1-Austra White, 1-Buff Orp, 1- Blue Cochin, 1- White Leghorn, and 1- Ayam Cemani/White Orp mix. Guineas- 2 Pearl Gray, 1 Coral Blue, 1 Slate.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
The Google.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Currently, my birds and goats are my hobbies.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm happy to have found this great resource!!

X 2 - especially showing that sort of aggression at just 16 weeks. A good rooster can be a joy to have around, but brining one up takes particular attention and work. A nice, hen only flock is a good way to start getting your feet wet in the poultry world -- if you decide you want a male around later I'd suggest starting with a mature rooster that is showing the sort of behavior you want as your learning experience with roosters. He will also be able to bring up a replacement if you decide to add a younger male a year or two later.
