2-1/2 month crowing, rooster

I look at the feather bud lengths, boys usually have shorter even ones then females. Males, short primaries, & coverts. Females long coverts, short primaries.
You must have a special line to be able to do that, fast feather growth crossed with slow feather growth, for most birds that does not work.

I find comb color at about 6 weeks tell the tale on males in most breeds.

I just haven't tried on Breeder stock yet. I will try it next spring.
