2 1/2 Week Old Chick with a Hurt Leg

I have a 2 1/2 week old Easter Egger chick. About a week ago I saw that she wouldn't put her full weight on her leg and would stop and lie down a lot. I have no idea what is wrong or how to treat it. She hobbles around and can get food and water but her leg is still hurt. What should I do?

It's possible that she has a slipped tendon or other leg bone deformity such as varus valgus deformity. The deformity eventually can cause the hock tendon to rupture. Could she have been injured? With leg problems poultry vitamins is always a good place to start, but most bone deformities can't be fixed. Many people try splinting the legs, but most people try to let these chicks live as normal a life as possible. Here are some threads and links to read:
