$2.25 Per Bird for Processing??

sounds about right I have heard of anywhere from 1.50-3.00 per bird depending on the place.

I'd pay that in a second. I had 2 turkeys processed last fall for $7/bird.

There is a lot to processing. The equipment alone to do it would cost you more.

Plus, they will get rid of the parts you do not want.

I was able to make an appt for my meat birds, 90 min later I had them back, cut up and wraped 3.10 a bird
for me it was WELL worth it.

i process for people, but in trade. no offense, but if you can't kill the bird yourself, it's actually worth a HECK of a lot more to have someone who is willing to do it.

I pay $1.45 each. Extra cutting more.

We are going to try and do some ourselves on the next batch I raise and see how that goes. I can save about 15 to 20 cents per pound by doing it myself.
