2-3 week old chicks sleeping outside the brooder plate today for the first time

They are all in a pile, just outside the brooder plate. It was a nice warm day but its not too hot in the garage, maybe 75 ambient temp. The brooder plate I actually JUST raised last night because they were all sleeping halfway out of it -- but maybe it needs to come up some more?

They are acting perfectly great, this was just an anomaly.

They do look super dingydarn cute all in a pile like that, though

Since they have the option to use (or not use) the plate, this is their way of saying they're comfortable without it, at current temperatures.

They are growing insanely fast, feathering more quickly than I ever realized. It has been literally 8 whole days and my batch of 5 I bought on the 11th have doubled in size lol

I was not prepared!

The 4 I got on the 15th are doing well too

Haha yeah they do grow fast. From day to day it looks like nothing changes, but if you document with photos, you can see how much bigger they are and how different they look from one week to the next.
