2- 3 week old eggs in refridge were watery and green when cooked a doz

cooked a dozen at a time and they were watery green and smelled what could cause this never had this happen before.

How did you cook them? Were they hard boiled?

Do you wash them before refrigerating them? Don't know if that would cut short the shelf life.
