I have two chicks in a good sized brooder (1.5 sq ft per chick) they love each other :). My family already planned an overnight outing before we got the chicks. If I got a nipple waterer and provided enough food, would they be ok for one whole day? I plan to completely change all the bedding before we leave. They are inside the house and the heat lamp is good where it is-they are comfortable. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks! I feel better now! I was starting to look for a travel brooder! I also put a web cam up so I can see them remotely from my iPhone!

Sounds like you are set. Just be sure to enjoy yourself! You have provided them with all they need, not go have fun!!!!

I use heat lamps but someone is always home in my house I personally wouldn't leave on an over night trip with a heat lamp plugged in hears an example of how hot they get when I first dtarted brooding chicks I had two heat lamps plugged in on two separate brooders I took them down to clean the brooders and unplugged them layer them on a towel and unplugged they started catching the towel on fire
