I have 2.5 week old (approximate) SLW we got from a mail order hatchery. Is he/she old enough to determine sex yet? We got three other chicks of the same age and this one’s comb is a little bit pinker and it’s also a bit more active than the others. I’m thinking we have a little boy here... any thoughts? Thank you

It is too early to sex, but keep in mind that Wyandotte pullets can develop color in the comb early. So this one still has a shot of being female. Keep an eye on the comb and wattles, and post again when this bird has feathered out, about 7 weeks, if it's not obvious by then.

I figured I would try again to see if anyone had any guesses...my little SLW is about 7 weeks old now. Any idea if it’s a cockerel or pullet?
