2 broodies with chicks, same coop

They really are cooperating. I just found one broody sheltering 2 of the older chicks and the other sheltering the younger chick and one of the older ones. Pretty neat.

Im glad yours are working together. Mine peck the others chicks if they get close.

They had their tussles, but apparently they got over it. Sure makes my life easier and provides one of those "marvel" experiences that working with animals frequently gives.

Too funny. I just saw the two broodies out together taking the 4 chicks for a walk by the creek.

So now there 13 Eggs ~ 3 look Ifie and just 15 days to go, :barnie I candled them last night.... Somehow there is an Surprise egg. looks to be a few day more developed then Hatchery eggs I put under the 3 hens. Ooo joy

I have to be really careful now when I feed the flock in the morning because the 3 oldest chicks now participate in the free-for-all, and I don't want to step on them. They are so fast they dart between the legs of the hens and steal the food they were getting ready to eat.

Wow, you really are having a marvelous experience! :love

Thank you for sharing. Love the chick hanging out on top of mama. I did get a video of one of my chicks riding around on mamas' back while she foraged. :p They are so cute!

I don't think my silkies can feasibly raise more than 4 large fowl chicks. Not sure about bantams.

So far I've missed getting a picture of mine doing that. Didn't have my camera with me. Giddy-up, horsey!

Like peas and carrots...
