2 Cayuga Girls & 1 Cayuga Drake

I think you would need lots of time with the ducks able to see each other but not touch, in order to re-integrate them as a flock. I'm sorry it didn't go so well, but half an hour is pretty good, actually. When birds are very unhappy to be together, two minutes is too long.

If she gets through this it will be a time of getting reacquainting with each other just like bringing a new duck in. But it’s done all the time. I have a Runner who has most likely a sprain and instead of keeping her inside I took a dog x pen and made her a small space outside where she can be with her flock but she isn’t trying to stay up with them. So when Mama gets to feeling better that would be the way to go with her a space inside the pen so they can be together but she doesn’t get picked on. An if you have a dog crate she could sleep inside the coop with them but in that. It usually takes a week or two for acceptance.

Thank you both! ❤️❤️❤️
Poor Mama has been really quiet ever since we came in. She’s not eating much either. I really didn’t expect the reaction she received, nor the fighting between Gilbert & Sassy, so it was shocking. If she’s able to pull through this health issue we’ll definitely go slow with reintroducing her to the flock of three.

Unfortunately, she’s declining. She’s eating very little & had no interest in playing in the tub.

Our vet reached out to Dr Speers this morning but never heard back so we’re going to take Mama in tomorrow & they’ll give her SubQ fluids while we wait to hear back from Speers. I honestly feel like we are spinning our wheels @ this point but perhaps there will be a miracle. We are certainly praying for one.

Thank you for checking up on Mama. I sure appreciate it! ❤️

Dr Speer never returned our vet’s calls nor her emails. She reached out to him repeatedly yesterday & again today. Mama has continued in her decline. I actually didn’t think she would survive last night.

We took her to the clinic this morning and our vet called a few minutes ago and said it’s time to put Marilla to sleep. She has continued in her decline while there today.

Thank you all for your support, your insight & your prayers. I truly appreciate & am thankful for each of you. God Bless. ❤️❤️❤️

:hugs I am so very sorry. There had to be an underlying reason for this. We’ll just never know. But she is in the best hands now and totally Well. Heartbreaking still. Just know y’all did all you knew to do and she knew she was loved.
