Maybe what your seeing is she needs to dunk her head which she is doing now.
That's great your seeing improvement so it's up to you on giving the cal glu. It def won't hurt her to have it. At least having her inside you can watch to see if she is laying an any other things that may give you clues to what's been going on. I'll see if I can get @casportpony here for poop inspection.

She had a good night. I slept on the floor next to her kennel and she slept, ate grit & dunked. She hasn’t made the “Ha!” sound since yesterday so I think that’s good. Her poop was pretty much just water so she really isn’t eating anything other than grit. I think we’ll have to give her the cal glu as she obviously isn’t eating much unless anyone has any other ideas?

I truly appreciate your help & everyone else’s!!! It’s such an amazing blessing to have all of you here supporting us!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Now that it’s Monday I just called around and there is one vet in town who works with birds. We have an appointment this afternoon. I have heard differing opinions re veterinarians & ducks so is there anything I should know before we take Mama in?
While she isn’t eating she’s been drinking, dunking & quacking like normal.

I was blessed to find one in the next county over from us who would see my Runner and I wouldn't say she is as up to date as maybe an avian vet would be she did prescribe an antibiotic and meloxicam for mine that helped me get her bumble taken care of. Main thing is ask questions if you have to write them down. I only had one problem so it was pretty easy and I had treated bumble [chickens] many times but not one like this girl had. I hope you can find out what's going on with Mama. Please let us know when you can. Be sure to tell the vet she is eating a lot of grit. Mine do eat it but not that over their feed.

Hi there, I just looked at the poop pictures but haven't been able to read through the whole thread. Can you give me a quick update on what's going on?

Thank you!!!

She was lethargic, either laying down or crouching, and not moving much nor eating normally. When drinking water she couldn’t stand so she laid down by her bowl. I brought her into the house yesterday morning and added Apple Cider Vinegar to her water.

She had been making strange sounds, a loud “Ha!” type sound, but just this morning she started to quack normally again.

Last night she was able to stand again so no more crouching. She started dunking her head again, something she hasn’t done for 24 hours, and she resumed eating grit.

She’s not eating, not even her fav treat of peas, so really she’s only consuming grit & water.

Thoughts?

The other thing: late Saturday night she was making funny movements with her head & beak. She finally coughed and a couple of peas from the morning popped out. No clue if it’s related to anything but it definitely was unusual.

I would remove the grit, and this is why:
"Potential Problems with Grit
Some birds, especially psittacines (members of the parrot family) may eat too much grit, if it is available. This can irritate the digestive system or actually cause an impaction (blockage) of the crop, ventriculus, or proventriculus. Pet birds on a poor diet may also eat too much grit in an attempt to fill their nutritional requirements."
