2 chicks with 2 hens

Lol... I don't think there is any question as to whether Dolan is a "he". Haha.
My question is what kind of chickens are these very pretty chicks? I ♡ them and the growth progressive photos! Thanks!

they are gorgeous indeed :) It are Wyandotte bantams.

I will make a video of the sounds they make.

Here is the video, its short. First I show the hen mini and her sounds, and then dolan and his sounds

Put sound up if you dont hear it :)

Can you get him to tidbit call? Then have pullet do same? Will allow comparison of same call. Calls made where not same in video as they had different meanings.

I can describe procedure. Very easy if you have some mealworms available.

Yes please explain :) I never heard of tidbit call. Is it the call they make when they tell everyone to come over for food or something?

Thats always waht my oldest one does to lure me to her haha. She seems to like me the most and whenever I come she starts to act like she found something and even picks up little stones and drops them and makes this sound she usually makes when she finds food for the chicks when they were little.

So far I only heard the roo make this sound, not the little hen.

You are on correct track about context of call. Most folks have observed adult roosters do it for hen s and hens for chicks but the really interesting stuff that can help distinguish gender of juveniles also takes place. So far my juveniiles have demonstrated capacity to inform broodmates about concentrations of food and even water. Calls may be different for food versus water and calls possibly even different between types of food.

Can you acquire live mealworms from your local pet store or wildlife store? A second best option would be the dried version. If yes, then I can describe process to get tidbitting calls produced by both cockerels and pullets as they call flockmates to a quality resource. This will allow comparison of calls in same context where primary independent difference will be gender of caller.
