Hello Everyone,
My chick is two days old.
I hardly hatched from the egg. I helped her get out.
I can't go to the vet because it is quarantine in my country.
I am a medical student.So I have a little information about intervention.
Is this tendon slipped?Or What is this?
Finally,What can I do about treatment?
Take Care

It’s right leg does kind of look like it has a slipped tendon. Only way to fix it is to get it back into the groove it’s supposed to be in. If it doesn’t happen soon enough, the chick may need to be culled, as it can be painful.

I have had one with a slipped tendon, waited too long thinking it was spraddle leg. It had gone about 5 days which was too long to get the tendon back into place. This one was put down.

The second chick with slipped tendon we caught the day of hatch. Put the tendon back into the center of the joint and taped it into place for 24 hours. It’s name is Chair, because she spent a night sleeping in a a chick chair.

The photo above is the tendon in place.

This bird is alive and well.

Does it throw its head backwards at all?

Thank you very much,
I tried to find the tendon but there is no tendon. Unlike other slipped tendon corrections, there is no swelling in the joint, as if the joint is crushed.
I try to feed it as it is, but it looks very weak.
It throws its head back only when drinking water.
Thanks again,
Have a good day

Slipped Achilles tendon. You will feel it on the side (most likely inside) of the leg, soak in warm water for 15min then massage into place behind the leg. You will need two people. After enough massaging it should stay. You will want to hold the chicken with the head facing person two and work from behind, bend the leg back as far as it will naturally go then straighten it. Once the tendon is lose hold it in place and use paper medical tape wrap it fairly tightly to hold it in place. 24 hours later the tendon should have reset in place, if not repeat.

Thank you very much, unfortunately my chick had other problems.such as breathing and nutritional distress.I tried to feed with care, but unfortunately it couldn't feed, died.I hope this post will work for another chicks with same problem.
Note:footnote, my chick was born late and was very weak when she was born. She was born with my help.

Such a bummer!!! I’m sorry it didn’t make it. Sometimes it’s for the better of the little one unfortunately.

We just had to put one down last night. It couldnt eat or drink on its own. Had something similar to wry neck and spraddle legs. Tried everything possible, but had the little fluffy monster go.
