Make sure your humidity is high. The duck needs a lot of moisture right now, and if you saw blood, it's not ready.

There was no bleeding thank goodness, when I had to help with the twins hatching I remember vaguely what Ravyn told me, the little one is back in the Bator cooking, seems so much happier since I helped just a little bit :)

Helping a bit is good - so you know it can breathe. Stopping when you see veins is also good.

You are getting the hang of this!

I think Ravyn said Calls can take 48 hours from pip to zip, so it may be a while. But I don't have ducks, so I'm just going by what I remember her saying.

I just can't remember what she said to do to keep the membrane moist, she will text me when she can I'm sure :)

She must be having one of her rare siestas. :D

Regular ducks can go 48, but I don't think Ravyn waits that long on calls. If it gets to a point where you are really nervous, Lucy, call her. I know she wouldn't mind. And if you can't get her, let us know and I'll throw in my 2 cents, as I'm sure others will also ;)

Some people use bacitracin, some use coconut oil, others warm water on a q-tip. I only moisten if the edges look tan/brown and crispy. Keeping humidity up in the incubator is more important to me.

She got back in touch with me :)
I knew I would hear from her as soon as she was able, and trust me if I get into 911ravyn type situation I will definitely dial 911ravyn

I thought she said coconut oil but I'm not positive... Either way the little guy is happy and resting as he finishes cooking, he couldn't get his nose holes past the membrane stuck to him. Once I got that out of the way he settled down

Sounds like it's going in the right direction!
