Why, just how did these eggs get in this incubator? Hmmmm... I guess we'll never know. Might as well let them hatch!

I bought more eggs yesterday. Considered hiding them in the incubator, but finally gave in last night and said... "oh, by the way, I may have ordered more eggs last night".... His response - "You may have?" Ok, so I did. No reply after that, so I take that as a big OK!!

In all seriousness, my husband is the best thing that ever happened to me. He knows how much I enjoy my chickens. Every now and again he asks me where I'm going with my hobby and I'll either shrug or give him an idea of my latest plans. I think he worries more about me overworking myself than anything else but I tell him that taking care of my chickens isn't work. It's fun.

I didn't tell my husband about the first shipment of duck eggs because we and when I say we, I mean he, decided it would be easier on me to wait until spring, so of course the day they come my husband is down at the shop so the mail man gives him the box ( I'm watching all this from my bedroom window, because I was getting text updates on the package) so I call him and say, "BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE BOX"
And he still has no idea, even though it says all over the box LIVE EMBRYOS DO NOT X-RAY , so he brings the box up and sets it down and then sees the writing on the box, so I just smile real big and say SURPRISE WE HAVE BABIES...

This is the note my husband left for me this morning, he's been leaving notes like this since we met, that's the incubator and he wrote, "we want out"
He's the best, and funny!

My husband had surgery a few days before Christmas (just a hernia repair, not life threatening), and he is still off work for another week. So he will be home when these arrive. I wanted to wait till they show up, and act like I forgot, but I get so excited thinking about it, I couldn't stand it!
And in reality, he doesn't mind whatever I want to do. He grumbles here and there, but overall, its all up to me.

I know that grumble all to well :)
I hope he is better and up and going soon.. Surgery of any kind stinks...

Update on the call ducks
All have externally pipped except for 1 and he was a late Bloomer so he's got at least 2 more days ... :)
So far all is well except for the one with membrane stuck to it and I'm working on a solution for him :(
