2 HEAT PACKS OR 1 HELP PLEASE QUICKLY

I am shipping some live chicks and with this front moving in with the snow, Should I put 1 heat pack or 2 in???? I have covered almost all the holes on the boxes, except 4-5 on top for ventilation. Orders are for 12 and 16 chicks in a small box...Do you think they will be okay with just one pack that can get up to 100 degrees or should I put 2 in at opposite sides of the box..?? They are going to Maine and Arizona?

Will I cook them or let them freeze someone help???? PLEASE

if they have a lot of room in the box two packs if they are kinda scrunched in then I would go with one, what are you doing to keep pack from moving around in the box? and protecting chicks from being trapped on it and burning their feet, just thoughts

I would confirm the likelihood they may be delayed in transit first. If possible they're lost or delayed in shipping your main concern is food/water/sanitation that will degrade ability withstand stress including cold. Is delivery guaranteed in 24hrs or overnight most important.

Only if potential delivery hold-up weather have a choice delay shipping or warm-pack to reduce stress.
Chemical warming packs those made specific human use they're advertised under pocket hand or toe warmers -the variety is 4hr to 8 hr. this should be covered with duct tape to inside wall......if the shipping crate large then on inside wall I've adhered those warming back wraps (icy hot) secured with duct tape ensure no picking it warms 8 hours.

I would only use warm pack if the possibility delayed up max 72 hours from delivery if potential fluke weather hold-up. If there is a likely risk delay shipping contact buyer - due animal humanity laws apply if up-most care is not met especially in transit.

******It's not necessary if you invested have guaranteed next day deliver and invested proper shipping container designed for live animal transport the best has a internal ventilation box inside a outer ventilation box this dual acts as own draft barrier ......must have moisture guards for transit and dry bedding . pads or internal box is dry pad lined including the walls as soft protection padding. The dual box inside a box is added anti-crush or impact strength and clear label warnings live animal.

---I've learned this shipping injured live wildlife to wildlife rehabilitation centers under special license permits and special tags or markings must be outside the box!! as well as vet inspection upon health posted on box......I don't know all those labels required for livestock but it is for protected wildlife. Hope this helps??

prevent burn I would use small hand chemical grandular warmers -wrap in duct tape to secure via tape either side wall or above on the lid so not direct contact... the smaller pocket hand or toe warmers don't take up much room. large pads from pharmacy for muscle aches can be trimmed and re-wrapped in duct tape.

I put lots of pine shavings and some grapes, oranges, and starter in the box at one end for food and hydration during transit. Both buyers called me back in time before I took them to the PO and just wanted one heat pad in the box. I said okay and did as instructed. They are on their way, and I am watching like a hawk, making sure they arrive safely ( I hope)...
