I have 2 hens that have decided to go brooding. I have one in our brooding pen at this moment.
I moved her there after she started brooding in a blackberry bush in our yard. She did not like me moving her and her eggs but I did not want to take a chance of a dog or something else killing her.
She settled in quite nicely.
The very next day one of my other hens started brooding in one of the boxes in the hen house.
I am fine with both hens brooding because I had saved up 12 eggs that I wanted for one of my large hens to brood and instead I got two smaller hens to do the work so I split the doz. between them.
My question is can I put the second hen in the same brooding box with the first, the brooding box is quite large. It is 7 feet long by 4 feet wide by 3 feet high. There is one door. The pen is fully secure from any predators, it sits in my run with all the other flock but nothing can get in or out unless the door is open.
Would the moms kill the other ones chicks?
