Hello,
I have purchased 3 chicks from the feed store labelled as "special" with no breed indication, they look a lot like barred rock. I was told they would be hens. but only one was a very cute hen, I've got one large roo, very tame and nice and another one, who even being only 2 and a half month, looks almost like an adult, par the nice tail. He has super red comb and wattles, even being smaller than the other one. I also got like 2 weeks after these 3, 10 cornish cross and 2 ducks. about one month ago, this nice red fellow started chasing and pecking the ducks, (they free range / stay outside in their run) now, he also does some bully behaviour on the cornish, like one cornish sits on the ground peacefully, he comes from behind and on purpose puts his foot on the cornish back. Now he even started pecking them on the head, for no reason. Often after he does this, he also starts to attempt to crow, sounding like squeaking metal. He confronts with the other roo too, but always lose out to him. Maybe that's a normal behaviour for a cockerel, but I think maybe genetics has to do with it, as the other guy is very nice and never does any of the following. The bad red roo, is oddly very tame with me I can pet him no problem.
Is this roo showing aggressive behaviour this young bad and sould I get rid of him?
Thanks
