2 new Aylesbury girls, how do i introduce them to existing flock?

I have a whole technique worked out cuz occasionally I'll have to babysit my teachers ducks in my coop. I've found that the group you introduce has to be a smaller group than the existing flock by at least 1. Then just throw them together. When they settle down add the rest one by one. So in your case I would add them one at a time so they're not perceived as a threat. That's how I got 6 mallards in with my 2 Pekins and a couple months later got my buff in that way.

Well we intended to get two aylesbury girls and when we got to the farm i fell in love with a little khaki campbell girl so got one of each instead!


Daisy the aylesbury is soooooooooooooooooo noisy!!!!! but nikki the khaki campbell is a sweet little thing

MrPekinDuck, I find your technique interesting and want to try that out with my flock.

I was noticing my Campbell drake was being quite aggressive with my Pekin Duck, not trying to mate, just chasing and nipping around the neck. So I originally thought well I'd just send him to the butcher... But then I noticed that its all of my ducks (not drakes!) chasing that female and I guess because she is the only white female, that is the pecking order. There is zero aggression between the 2 Drakes, and the Campbell is the only one who tries to mate. They are also about 20 weeks old. So I decided to add 2 adult females. Got a CL offer on 2 Pekin Ducks, 2 years old. And I am leaning toward that. (I have 6 total, so adding 2 would be 8 total; the Campbell drake, a Pekin Drake... And with 2 more would have 6 female ducks).

Hope I'm not hijacking your thread, what do you guys think about my plan to add? Thanks.

Hi all, Daisy and Nikki have settled in well and our drake Jim has already taken a fancy to Nikki (uh ohhhhhh lol)
Daisy is very vocal but seems to be improving as she finds her place in the flock, Nikki is a very quiet girl and more than happy to just follow the others around.
Minimal fuss no fights just Jim getting a bit frisky so far lol x
