right in the center of their backs they have lost feathers I can see skin. what is wrong with them? is my rooster doing this?

It is very likely damage from the rooster mating with them. How many hens do you have, and what breed of rooster?

I have americauna that do this. My hens have to be rotated bc he is really tough on them. They will go bald above their tails. I've had bleeders before. :( other than the mating, he is a nice, protective roo.

I seperate them and I run feather fixer feed through them and give them hard boiled eggs as treats when they have battle marks. I also make chicken saddles for my hens. It helps.

I agree, my rooster is on top of our girls quite often and they are loosing feathers on the back end of their back. One of them has a white patch, it's normal
