Hi all, thanks for any help or suggestions.
Two of my eight hens (1 barred rock & 1 red sex link) have some balding on their backs with minor scabbing. balding goes under wings and the BR has balding going all around the vent, much worse than the Red. The BR has a small vent compared to the others and her eggs ever since her first have always been rough, colorless and no enamel. She is still very lively and active, with good appetite and drinking.
I treated them organically as if they have mites in a vinegar bath and coconut oil as a topical about a week ago. i am going to do another round (bath & topical) tomorrow when the rain passes. Originally I thought the scabs were from pecking, so i quarantined them separately. they both seem to be doing better with scabbing and new feathers are starting to sprout. However I am seeing some pink enflamed areas on the Red Sex's back and the BR still has the egg laying issue.
Any ideas?
No vaccines
