My Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock chicks are starting to hatch. They started hatching around this morning. But what I don't get, one made two pip holes! Why? Wasn't one pip hole enough? [IMG]

IDK why it would do that but I didn't think they were supposed to be removed from the humidity once they pipped?

Removing them for a certain amount of time doesn't hurt them not very long periods just like maybe a couple seconds it zipping now almost done zipping around fixing to pop out anytime soon

Ehhh...not really a good idea...but it's your hatch and your risk to take.

Opening the incubator when there is an open pip can drastically drop the humidity, the membranes can dry out pretty quickly and cause chicks to get shrink wrapped having a hard time getting out.

I know... I've done this for 4 years and all my hatches have been 100%
