Can anyone tell me if an impacted crop will go away on its own? If not, is the best remedy to insert vegetable oil in the back of the chickens mouth?

Also, how young is too young to clip wings? We have 7-8 week old chicks that we are starting to integrate with our two older chickens and the chicks are quite the flyers!

Thanks for the help!

Never dealt with impacted crop, so I can't offer advice on that. :(
I can offer advice on wing clipping.;; I would only do it if the chickens are escaping their enclosure/run/yard area and not able to return home. Being able to fly is a benefit they have to escape short distances from predators, or aggressors.
I have clipped wings of newcomers in the past. These were adult chickens that,,,,, if they flew away, would not know where to return. After their wing feathers regrew, I have never needed to clip a second time. Chickens were homeset to their coop, and knew where to return to.

Thank you so much for the advice and thanks for the welcome! I will watch them closely for another week or so to see if they are able to get back in.
