My flock consists of 4 chickens hens, 2 female ducks, and a roo. So my current rooster has good temperment but only mates with the 2 ducks and 1 hen. He's very gentle... however he keeps attacking 1 hen (buff orp) and doesn't want to do anything with her. She is lonely and stressed.
I found a free buff orpington roo near me about the same age and very good. Would adding that roo to the flock be fine? He would be a great pair to the buff hen and eventually make pure breed chicks.
We are free ranging all day on 9 acres so there would be plenty of space. At night, they are shut in a 10x20 run. I don't want to sell my current roo or buff because they was raised by me from birth and got quite attatched to me like little puppies. Thank you all!
