Hi, I have an unsexed, 2 week old Sex Link x Ameraucana chick. We thought it was a pullet, but it has been acting like a rooster might (flying out of the brooder anytime the door is opened, sparring with other chicks, and just generally bossing the chicks around!). None of the other chicks we have act like this. I don’t know if this means cockerel, or just a dominant pullet! Here are pictures.

I have one that’s the same age, he’s a punk, and he’s sprouting a big tail! Still they tell me “too early to tell’. I see no tail on yours yet?

Tail and wing feather growth is irrelevant, it's about the comb, and this chick is too young to see it clearly. Some will have three rows early, and be male, compared to the pullets, who's early comb won't be that wide. In EEs, I'm not sure that always applies.

Male or female, chicks will spar. So, that isn't an indicator at this age. No gender indicators in the chick in the pic.

An Ameraucana breed should have slate colored legs and this chick has yellow/orange legs, so it is not an Ameraucana. Of course, it is common that EE are sold as Americana (notice the "i" rather than the "au" in the spelling). Often, but not always, EE have greenish legs. So, you might have a different breed altogether.

Comb is pretty tiny, and does not look like a single comb. Wonder what type it is bc can't see it very well in pic.

Oops! Yep, I goofed on the breed. The seller told me it was a black sex link/ americauna cross.

If it’s a sex link cross breed would it still have the spot on the back of the head? Our sex link did. And our female americuna had a bit of “eye liner” around her eyes. The male did not. Maybe that helps?
