Hello chickeneers! My 8 chicks are two weeks old and looking cramped in their brooder. Their 4x8 coop is finished and nice and solid and draft free. Would they be ok in the coop with a heat lamp? Our nights are pretty consistently in the 60s.

I certainly hope so as I moved my two week old chicks to their coop yesterday, the brooder was 4' x 3' and I felt they were getting bored, they had started to do a weird flying jumping thing and I was concerned they would start picking on each other, the Coop is 4" x 8" so now they have lots of space to spread out. They have their heat lamp, and they are happy. But wow do they look tiny out there. Here they are on the web cam if you want to peek at them out there. http://wingedwonder.click2stream.com/ The door to the run is closed and will stay that way for at least another few weeks

Excellent! Thank you. I think I'll put them out tomorrow. Mine are trying to fly around too and chirping at me to LET THEM OUT! I have at least one escapee every time I feed and water. I'll hang the heat lamp and monitor their temp.
