Please rethink the wire floor. I believe your chickens would be lots happier with a solid floor covered in bedding they can scratch and dig and lounge in.

Not rude at all, yes this was right before I dumped it and put fresh food in for them. I have to do that twice a day. They play around and get the pine all in the food.

I’d never use a wire floor for any of my chickens, adults or babies, so I’m afraid I’m not able to advise you. Looks like you’ve been given a couple of ideas, though.

As for how many nights to use the heat plate indoors before moving them out, that depends on them and how long it takes them to ”adopt” it.

Ok great. Thanks. They’re growing so fast. Their feathers are coming in way faster than I thought. They are going to put grow the stock tank quickly.

Raise the feeder up on bricks to the level of their backs and they'll have a harder time making a complete mess of it.

Mine sure did. Even raised up by bricks they managed to get those shavings in both food and water.
