I have a 2 year old partridge rock that seemed this fine. This morning I was feeding the chickens and I noticed she seemed to be wet by her breast and crop area. Upon closer examination I realized that she had lost lots of feathers by her crop and it is huge and squishy. Not to mention that the wetness is some weird liquid. It doesn’t smell like water, but unidentifiable!! (She is all wet by her crop) Also she was running around normally and was drinking water. What should I do??? Thanks in advance!

It aounds like she may be beginning to have a sour crop. That or molting might be why her feathers on her crop are missing. The crop should fill up with food all day long, and then be mostly empty by the next morning. If not the crop is slowed down, or there is a problem. I would stop any whole grains, and feed her mushy chicken feed with added water some plain yogurt, and a little cooked egg. Check it in the AM before she has had a chance to eat or drink. Nystatin, Medistatin, miconazole, and antifungal creams such as miconazole or clotrimazole are commonly used to treat sour crop. Do not try to make her vomit, since that can cause her to choke. Place plenty of cool shaded water in various spots for her to drink. If she is not drinking well, put some electrolytes in the water for a couple of days.
Molting can be a hard time for them. Here is an article to read:
