Sorry guys! I had some family issues over here...still do.
But on with the button talk
Here are just few pictures to share! More to come of course. (I had a bit of a mess in there today since I am moving cages around. Tiny feathers all over!)
My favourite lady of the current juvenile batch.
Juvie Tiny Tim...he is getting around better, but still look like a water bug out of the water at times.
Youngsters...I woke them up and made them angry.
Is this a Silver?? I Hope....
I am working on making a new setup for the buttons currently...with safety padding on the cage tops of course! If it outcome is glorious I'll let you know. Also, I want to get some better artificial lighting in there and on timers, too.
I wanted to let you guys know that I received both of the button books a couple days ago. I read
The Chinese Painted Quail, Button Quail: Their Breeding and Care in one sitting and it was pretty good, but there was some questionable advice like adding salt to veggies since salt is already in the feed. It isn't healthy or safe to give them much salt is it? Another thing was the idea of housing them outside in cold weather...I wouldn't think they'd be comfortable in less than 50 degrees. Well, I am going to get going with
A Closer look at "Button Quail"
next.
I will get more pics up -- promise!
You guys better share, too! I check other threads for new pics, but there are never enough!
