20% protein - too much for grown roos?

I have bachelor bantam roos about 5 months old. I'm taking them off medicated feed. The only non-medicated feed I can get locally is 20% Starter/Grower, or 16% Layer Feed. I don't have any layers, just the boys. Whatever feed I get, they will have to be on it until they are over 1 year old. I'll have layers by then, and I assume the roos can eat the Layer Feed with them. But is 20% Starter/Grower okay until then (or too much protein)? Or should I get the 16% layer (lower protein, but unnecessary calcium)?

Thanks

It will be OK.
More protein than needed but the excess calcium in layer feed may end up being a concern if they live for several years.

These cockerels will do just fine on the 16% layer unless you want to show them at extreme top condition.
