If he's taking it on his own, that's great. Maybe try to offer it to him a few more times a day. I realize your schedule is crazy though.

If he starts refusing water or food, make sure you update before too much time goes by.

Do you have a food scale?

he hasn’t out right refused anything entirely yet, so that’s a good thing. i’ll tell my mom to try to give him some water a little more because i don’t get home until after 6.

and, no, i don’t have a scale

Rooting for your roo. I'd try teaching your mom how to handle a rooster. There are a few good ways to show a rooster who's boss. Also, could it be that he has a broken neck or a fractured neck?
for the most part, he isn’t outright aggressive to anyone else other than her. he’d do a lot of bluff charges but that’s about it. honestly, i think that’s what he did to her when she hit him. i was talking to my mom last night about it again and she said she panicked because he ran at her and she just started swinging.

when he tries to bluff you, he just runs at you and stops before he gets close. i think that’s what he was doing and she thought he was trying to full on attack her. idk, she did say she’s terrified of roosters and i think they pick up on that.

i thought he has/had a concussion because he can still move his neck and it isn’t limp. he’s just keeping it tucked/scrunched in.

That would be good.

If you can get a scale, that would be good too. It's important to monitor weight to make sure they're not losing any.

im waiting for my next class, but i messaged my mom to ask how foghorn was ( she’s the only one home right now to take care of him ) and she said he started eating on his own. he ate the food off the spoon and then started eating out of the cup when she held it near him. he drank 6ml of water but that’s all he wanted. still, the food is a big step forward because just yesterday evening i had to put the food in his mouth.
he drank 9 more ml a little bit ago, from what my mom told me. which is better than the 6 he only wanted this morning.

is a regular bathroom scale sensitive enough to pick up his weight? because i have one of those
A kitchen scale is best because it is capable of weighing in grams. Every gram counts in a sick bird.

It sounds like you have your hands full as a working student. If you can swing it, you can get a scale at Walmart for around $15.

there isn’t a walmart near my college, so i’ll look at the Walgreens. i was in there earlier to get the baby aspirin for him ( bayer low dose ). if they have any and the scales are over $15, i probably won’t get it. we’ll see
