im waiting for my next class, but i messaged my mom to ask how foghorn was ( she’s the only one home right now to take care of him ) and she said he started eating on his own. he ate the food off the spoon and then started eating out of the cup when she held it near him. he drank 6ml of water but that’s all he wanted. still, the food is a big step forward because just yesterday evening i had to put the food in his mouth.
Very encouraging! :fl

Following.

The most important thing right now is hydration. The fact fact he has an appetite and is drinking on his own is a good sign though.
he hasn’t drank on his own yet, sorry. he’s still being given water through a syringe but he is eating on his own now. im not sure if my mom tried to give him water in a bowl or not, i didn’t ask. but, yeah, even though he didn’t drink as much this time, he’s still getting water from the food because i used the electrolyte water to mix his crumbles into a mash/paste.

The moist food is not the same as fluids.

How much water is he getting a day? Is it all going into him vs running out of his mouth?
oh, I know, i was just saying it was at least something. he’s getting water 3-4x a day and usually is drinking around 12 ml each time. He’s actually drinking it too
