Yes. He is a Silkie I wouldn’t expect him to crow for another few weeks. Often Silkie cockerels don’t crow until they are 6,7 even 8 months old.Is it normal for cockerels to not crow until 20 weeks?
I used to have a serama rooster but I had to get rid of him a month ago. They did fight a little from my recollectionI believe this is a Male. I am looking at the neck feathers, comb is large for a Silkie, and the stance. Do you have other roos? Sometimes having dominant roos keeps a submissive cockeral from crowing.
He doesn't appear interested in the known females of my flock...maybe his hormones haven't kicked in?Yes. He is a Silkie I wouldn’t expect him to crow for another few weeks. Often Silkie cockerels don’t crow until they are 6,7 even 8 months old.
Darn! I've been getting such conflicting info but I always felt in my heart he was a roo despite being labled a pulletHe's a cockerel.
