20-week-old pullet...started crowing...Looks nothing like a roo! Help

I had a serama hen who would crow every time she wanted to be fed, treated, go to the park, or wanted attention. A very rooster like crow too just as your lady.
Funny thing is she didn't start to crow TILL after she started to lay eggs. Bless her confused little self.
I'm wondering if my two little ones (The chickies in my avatar) will do the same thing as her?

Well, she sure did throw me! After her very significant crowing (and many people here said that a pullet of that age NEVER crows) two weeks ago, I started thinking she really was a late-developing cockerel. Found her in the nesting box this morning, and then an egg in the box at lunch time. It was awesome! :) I guess we both know that crowing can happen with the girls :)

Yep, my Buff Orpington drove me crazy with her crowing. Loud and obnoxious. And I had 3 roos out there at the time.

Congrats on that first egg! Coop Eye Candy and generous to boot - it doesn't get any better!

Thanks so much Blooie! :) I've always loved Buffs too...they have the wonkiest personalities in my opinion.

Thanks for the compliment about my crowing pullet. I'm thinking of a name change...she's beautiful, but "Lady Mary" doesn't fit her. I am thinking perhaps, Mildred?

SHE DID IT!!!!! IT'S HER EGG!

My crowing pullet laid her first egg today. I actually drove home to check on her on my lunch break and found a marvelously dainty green egg! Now we know that pullets can crow. Even young ones. 21 weeks and 4 days old. She did it!

How will I ever get any work done this afternoon??? ;)

Congrats!!! :goodpost: It's such a pretty green color too!

It was a bit more green (like pastel) in real life, but my iPhone just couldn't capture it exactly. Thank you! The girl was resting in a nice dust bath when I got home. ;) I gave her strawberry tops as a treat.

Ooh, I bet it's even more beautiful in person. Cameras never seem to catch the actual color of eggshells! I bet she loved the strawberry tops! It's always a favorite in my flock :)
