Sounds like a good idea, if you do the processing!

I can't do that!! We can do Band-aid and her buddy too, so they'll quit stinking up my bathroom

Did you see my post on the KY people thread? We are going to have a BYC mascot for our event!!

Rusty the Rooster will be joining us, his debute appearance was at the IN chickenstock!

I'll have to ask dad, but I was thinking of a fishing contest for the kids? Dad's kind of funny about 'other people' fishing here, but I'll see what he says! Maybe a prize for the biggest fish, I just hope no one hooks a cat! The last one I pulled out of there was as long as my arm!

The ones I have extra right now would be 8 weeks old - still small, but not too bad. I also have those five or six extras that are old enough to process anytime now. I can do them up and freeze them until it comes time to cook them.

How many do you have to process? they only take like 5 minutes (at most) per bird to process. I can bring them here and do it, or we can do it at your house before the date.

Gosh, idk, there are 30+ young ones in the building right now. I don't know how many 'extra' males I have just yet, it will be a few more weeks before I can tell. They are about 3-4 weeks old, I think.

I have mine seperated - I have about 27 I am picking from for keepers - but I'll have some of those as well (I have 60 total, but not sure how many will be good for eating by then - some are smaller than others).

I could throw in about 15 or 20, plus the 5 or 6 I have extras in the cages already.

depending on how many folks want to try quail (or like it already and just want some to eat).

just keep me informed of how many you estimate we'll need by then.

I know I have at least 10, there are 4 or 5 jumbo brown young males, 3 golden males (youngsters), and at least 1 A&M (on the porch). I'm sure of the rest there are plenty of males! Though my J.B.'s were about half and half, I think I had more females than males in them actually. But I'll have quite a few.

Do you have a grill you could bring along? We have one, but it's not all that big. If we have burgers and dogs going, along with quail, that grill will be kinda full!

ETA: Plus there are the 2 in the bathroom with the goofed-up legs.

I had thought about buying a cheap charcoal grill for the quail - that way we can keep em seperate from the hotdogs and burgers (that cook faster). I'll run the quail grill

that (and the quail) can be my contribution to the feast.

I'll start them early, and the ones that are done we can wrap in foil and keep on the side of the grill to keep them warm.
