SAVE MONEY FOR MORE FABRIC!!!

I just saved almost $10.00 on a new blade for my rotary cutter! I sharpened it myself using a very easy way.

I took a single layer sheet of aluminum foil, put it in a 12" X 16" cardboard box lid (mine had a nice 2" lip that gives hand protection from blade) and then ran my cutter (fully assembled) over the foil several times. Just using slight pressure, not enough to go into cardboard, but enough to go through foil.

IT WORKED!!!

My cutter went from barely cutting a double thickness of 100% cotton, to cutting through a 4 layer thickness of old Docker jean fabric with ease. I figured it was worth a try, I was going to have to buy a new blade anyway. So, I tried it and now I can buy more fabric instead!

, when I left my pottery class today I went in Hancock Fabrics..I came out a whole lot poorer!!!! Found alot of cute chickeny fabric for 30% off, even a yard (all that was left!) of that bright yellow with black and white chickens on it fabric that Prissy made those purses out of..very cute fabric...soooo, spent too much but got some great deals, haven't been in that store in years but made up for lost time today, lol!!!

Hi all....It sounds like you all are either finding good deals or going broke trying to find them.

Wasn't here this morning because myself and our daughters went and worked the clothing closet from 8 a.m. until 12 noon, and then after that we went and picked up a new family member whose name is "Suki" (Chinese meaning for Blessed) and she is a doll.
She obeys commands given, is house trained and when I introduced her to the other animals, she didn't bark, growl or anything.....she just walked on by. This is a great sign.

She is loved by all the girls and even our neighbors. Here's a pic of her....I'll get a better pic later. She Australian Shephard and Beagle Mix but the Aussie in her over-rules the beagle.

Chicken women---I got the block and my daughters loved it. They are totally amazed at the art work done by all of us that are putting together blocks. Thanks again.....I love it

I think I will call mine the "BYC Sampler" after I get enough to put together a quilt.

You all keep up the great work and maybe next week won't be as busy.

I don't like coffee either! I way too often start my morning with a Pepsi or Mt. Dew. I know it's not good for me, but I am addicted...

Puff, thanks for that advice! I may just have to try that!

Acre, your new dog is adorable!!

I ordered fabric from fabricshack.com on Wednesday, they shipped it out the next day and it got here today! That was fast! I love it and wish now I had ordered more of some of it (I have trouble deciding how much to order when I'm looking at it online). I may have to end up ordering a little more now. You should have heard DH when he brought in the mail before heading to work and he saw that I got fabric!

I was in trouble! But I bought it out of my "allowance" (we each have a small amount for random purchases at our discretion), so he just has to deal with it!
