2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Very nice Skand, I like that one as well as your Black and White one, for a beginner you are doing a great job. Now I noticed that you don't have anything specified as to colors or themes for your blocks that you are getting so I presume it's anything goes as long as it's not outrageous, right?

Thank you very much! Yes, anything goes, do whatever you want, whatever makes you think fits me, if that makes sense?!

Skand - that came out really nice, is that the one you had to border? Good job with the borders! hehehe I have the same fabric. Walmart right? You put those two colors together nicely!

I like the muted red and black.

Thanks, Luna. One thing I really am enjoying is figuring out what colors look good together.

I know this isn't the right thread to ask this, but does anyone know how to get a pic from the uploads folder to show up as an avatar? I have already downsized it, but can't figure out that step.

Wild, have a great trip! I know we're going to miss you around here!

Acre, thanks for the continued prayers... it's been a crazy week and I really appreciate them!

I can't lie to save my life... so I just don't even try. DH knows all about all my fabric, but he's USUALLY understanding about it, although he gives me a hard time about it now and then.

Skand, you always make me laugh. Your latest block is nice! Good job!

Amy, I'm glad your block made it safe and sound.

Leepsy, the turkey block is cute as are the other two. I love the other one you just posted, too!!

Puff of Fluff, your baby quilt blocks are very cute! Good job!

I think I'm kind of caught up... it's amazing how many posts show up here in a couple of days! Sorry if I missed anything or anyone!

SE...I decided to do what you are doing and make some blocks ahead, kind of a variety. Here's the other one I made that's not chickens.

Your block is great Leeps!! I'm glad you liked the butterfly on your block, wasn't sure about that and what one person thinks is cute another might not..anyway, you sort of raise a point here that I have been wondering about..and spending a fortune on too, lol!! At first I thought the anything goes could be florals or batiks or really whatever but now it seems folks are pretty much integrating chickens into the biggest majority of the blocks so I guess I will too, and sorry for the Leeps and MomofDrew blocks that are not at all chicken related. I guess that really is the underlying swap theme after all..anyway, I have plenty of chickeny fabric on the way so my future ones will all relate a bit more. When you all make my blocks, however, you can use whatever you have, chicken or not, I love florals, batiks, any really...no worries from me I am easy to please so don't at all stress over my blocks...and please do not anyone think I am fussing with this post, jes sayin...not arguing or anything, only wishing I had done two blocks a bit more on target than I did
