2009 Quilt block of the month - February

I got my block from Jody today!!! The mailman came while I was chipping a path in the ice for the snowmelt, to channel it away from the foundation.

It is so amazingly awesome!! The Colors are even more beautiful in person than they appeared in the forum picture! It's got chickens in it and the colors are like a breath of springtime, just what I needed!!!

I got the last of my fabric yesterday too, it's washed, and waiting to be ironed so I'm going to cut the last bit of ChevyBeth's block now! JoAnne has 30% off on 'Keepsake' fabrics, and they had a bit of a sale on Debbie Mumm prints too.. (not great, but not bad!) So I got the one color I felt like I needed to contrast my main fabric... I just can't believe I couldn't find anything I liked in my stash. I think deep down I wanted an excuse to get more!! Fabric for a quilter is like chickens for everyone else!! Just can't ever have enough!!

I got my block Acre!!!! Thank you! The girls are fighting over who gets to put it on thier bed. They think I'm giving it up, yeah right!

Um, well I did it

and I just could not stand it

ordered it. It has over 4,0000 patterns pictured in it, they may be small black and white pics, but it gives me so many designs to choose from and then I can just make blocks the colors and size I want

right? I like it as it gives a little history on the designs also. OK, OK, it was being able to get things like this, that finally gave me the motivation to quite smoking 649 days ago

a lot of times that is what helps keep me smoke free.

That's what I was kind of thinking when I realized I'd need to put those spacer pieces in. Yeah Sara, I should of caught that right off, but I finally had hit the groove and was jammin along.

That is SO wonderful. I have been told by my friends who smoke that since I've never smoked I can't understand and that I need to hush. But I really admire you for quitting, and if piecing and quilting have helped you I am so happy for you. It's a nasty thing, on many levels, and by kicking it to the curb, you have succeded in a great thing!!! 649 days? That means that this will be your second spring, and that you will be able to truly enjoy the scent of the spring flowers, the smell of the freshly turned earth, even the smell of 'green'. Some people don't think that -green- has a smell, but it really does, and I hope you can detect it, cause it's a wonderful thing!

Well, I finally got Acre's block in the mail. It's been finished for over a week, LOL!

I belong to the Spring swap, too, and this is my practice block....

I will be using different fabric for my Spring Swap blocks and am wondering if I can offer this one as another block for February?

I was afraid to sign up for two as I wasn't sure I'd be able to even finish ONE!

Acre's if you'd tell me who I'd send this one to and PM me the address, that would be great!

I'll PM you and ask as well....
