2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Happy Birthday Felicity!!!!!!! I'm gald you liked the block. You did a GREAT job on your 1st block.

I'm in for 2 blocks in March. You guys are really great fun. Thanks for all the laughs!!!! T

question: Has anyone ever used that "Pixie" machine by singer? How about the $80 brother machine from wal-mart? I'm debating getting a small machine so I don't have to "bug" my MIL whenever I want to sew a quilt block.

So you are saying you are willing to buy me an expensive machine???

No, I am saying go buy the Pixie, or the $80 brother, it may not do the emroidery or some fancy dancy stiches, but they appear to do the regular stuff just fine.

AND, I bet the $10,000 Huskavarna only comes in white.

My MIL has a machine that was like $3000. I'm afraid to touch it. My concern is I used to have a machine like 15 years ago and didn't use it much then got rid of it. Now my kids are in high school/college and I will be done with my college degree (FINALLY!!!!) the first week of June. I will have FREE TIME (had to go look up those two words in the dictionary) but my hubby won't be so keen on me buying another machine.

Maybe I'll go look on craigslist...

Nah, grab the pixie, make sure you set up all the fabric and machine where it's right in his way of the tv. Do all of the sewing while he's trying to pay attention. Gripe and cuss out the machine. Finally, he will look at you, and say... If you do that in another room, I will buy you a good one.
Works everytime... hehehe
