2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Nothing specific, really.

Each person has just given us the ideas of colors that they like. It has to be nothing specific. You make what you want to make. I don't think anyone here will be upset at all at what they receive.

I'm paying more attention to what they dont like. Seems it's easier thinking that way. If I wanted it the way I want it, then I would just make my own. If I say I dont like orange, then I would just hope I wont get one in fifteen shades of orange. lol

I beleive you are correct, because each month the list of swappers could change. Some may not want to do all 12 months, plus new members could add to the list in the future.

That sounds like a really good thing, if nothing else, at least paying attention to what they don't like I mean.

So far I think I have at least ONE example of what has been requested by all, more of some than others though. Hopefully if I can get even just ONE of their preferences in a block, they'll be able to coordinate with the others. If not, something to think about is either using colors that will still blend with their chosen colors, or a true neutral block, or anther thought is, sometimes one odd contrasting block can be really fun to use to make a quilt top POP!!!

[edit] in the end, the recipient can use these to make one quilt, two pillows, a wall hanging, or frame in a picture frame! If you get a block that doesn't fit with the others, you can make it work on something else! I just think being able to work with different colors and differnt blocks will be a blast!

Is it orange, by chance? cause if so, then I'll request the rest to be color coordinating. lol

Actually it is only the color specifications. THe block size is 12.5 x 12.5 unfinished. You can make the same pattern in different colors, or you can make a different pattern each month based on the receiver's color choices. That part is up to you. If you have a simple basic pattern you like to do, then do it. Or if you have a particular pattern that works with the receiver's color scheme then make that one.

You can make it squares, log cabin, triangles, circles, scrappy, whatever you are comfortable in doing just as long as the block is a 12.5 x 12.5 inches unfinished.

It will be up to the co-ordinators of this to make sure that you know who your receiver is each month as long as you are participating.

I hope this helps clarify it for you.
