2009 Quilt block of the month - February

2 blocks dropped in the box (mail box) this cold morn. Not good at making decisions and very critical of things I make. So I hope they like the blocks. I decided not to take pictures, because I wanted it to be a suprise!!!!

I make a BAD mistake the other day. DH's TV in the living room went to heaven last week so he has taken over the TV in my sewing room.

Well I was cutting out 6 1/2 inch squares for 2 rag quilts I am making. DH had no idea how much fabric I had until then. I did not want to repeat any block in either quilt. I was able to cut 110 blockes for each quilt with each one being different. I still had a few boxs of fabric to go thru. I buy alot of fabric at garage sales and on sell. He had the nerve to tell me I could not buy ANY more fabric until I used most of what I have.

Well I guess after I cut another rag quilt I will have to hide a few boxs and show him the empty spaces on the shelf

That or ask him what he would rather have you spend money on your fabric or a divorce attorny. That might just make him sit up and think twice.

Venting here sorry you can do what you want and hiding your fabric would settle it without a fight but I would look at that as a fib and when you have to start fibbing to your other half when does it end and what do you do with the fear that it might just catch up with you.

Good luck and sorry that this even came up for you. Ban him from your sewing room and tell him that he can't watch your tv no more. And don't let him get a new one. See how he likes wearing that shoe.

Yeah, I'm not very sneaky myself... I could just not 'make a big deal about it' before, as long as there's nothing brought up about my actual fabric or whatever, but once the gauntlet is thrown down, I couldn't sneak... but I wouldn't stop buying fabric either, especially from garage sales or from fabric sales at a good price. I understand about not being extravagant, money should be discussed, but that's not wasteful. Course I'm divorced too, but I learned that "up front" attitude from my mother and my parents were married for 57 years before she died, so she must have been doing something right. I'll never marry someone who doesn't know the real me thoroughly, and respect what he sees. (and vice-versa!)

Sorry I didn't mean to make DH sound so mean!! When he told me that yesterday I just looked at him and wiggled my fingers around his air space and walked away. He said hey what is that all about? I told him I just cast a BAD spell and him and he needed to see the witch doctor to have it removed. This moring he said he thought we needed to find some garage sales this week end maybe I could find some fabric cheap. He just needed to get his mind back where it belonged which is out of stuff. well I am off to go ride the horse at a friend ranch. My fingers need a break for tieing all those squares

I don't know why men have the need to be so bossy. My dh does the same thing to me. I just do what I want anyway
